ABOUT THE COURSE
Microaggressions are subtle but harmful behaviors and comments that reinforce bias and exclusion. They impact individuals and communities, often leaving lasting wounds. Microaggression 101 provides a thoughtful and faith-rooted space to unpack what microaggressions are, how they show up in our churches and communities, and how we can respond with compassion and courage.
This 6-module, self-paced course includes:
- A foundation in implicit and explicit bias
- Real-world examples of microaggressions by race, gender, and sexual orientation in ministry
- Tools for recognizing and disarming microaggressions with practical interventions
- Theological grounding in compassion, belonging, and God’s vision of justice
- Reflection exercises and quizzes to deepen learning
By the end of this course, participants will not only understand microaggressions but also practice skills for repairing relationships and creating spaces where every person is valued as beloved in God’s image.
