Nashville, TN — The General Commission on United Methodist Men (GCUMM) and WesleyMen strengthened their shared commitment to ministry with men through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 13 at the 2026 World Methodist Council Meeting in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The agreement recognizes the unique role of each organization while creating opportunities for greater cooperation, communication, and shared ministry across the worldwide Methodist and Wesleyan family.
“For GCUMM, the partnership is another step toward connecting men beyond geographic and denominational boundaries,” said the Rev. Dr. Rick Vance, General Secretary of the General Commission on United Methodist Men and board member of WesleyMen. “Together, GCUMM and WesleyMen can encourage discipleship, strengthen leadership, share resources, and create opportunities for men to put their faith into action in their churches and communities.”
The MOU is more than an organizational agreement--it reflects a shared belief that ministry with men is strongest when we work together. By connecting United Methodist men's ministry with the broader global Wesleyan family, the partnership will support discipleship, leadership development, mission work, and resource-sharing across cultures and nations. Most importantly, it opens new doors for men to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
