Moment for Mission
"He leads me in right paths for his name's sake." – Psalm 23:3, NRSV
The General Administration Fund is one of seven apportioned funds that each United Methodist church supports in order to further our connectional ministry. The General Administration Fund is used in some very specific ways. It supports the behind-the-scenes work of providing oversight, ensuring that our gifts are used for faithful ministry. The fund also assists the church legislative process, which includes funding for General Conference and special commissions and committees formed by the action of the General Conference. It also supports the maintaining of our United Methodist history.
The General Administration Fund ensures that we, as a whole church, are rooted in our history, are held accountable fiscally and are maintaining our historical United Methodist identity even as we seek our way forward as The United Methodist Church. These three functions hold The United Methodist Church to its professed beliefs. The General Administration Fund also holds the church to demonstrate integrity locally and globally.
When we give generously to the General Administration Fund, we maintain our United Methodist identity, show accountability in our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world and continue to follow the right paths as the church of today.
Offertory Prayer
God, humbly we come before you today seeking to hear your voice that we may stay on your right path. May our gifts today be an investment of that journey, empowering us, your church, to continue to move forward in wisdom and integrity. Amen.
From Discipleship Ministries: Fifth Sunday of Easter – Gracious God, you are the vine grower and we belong to you. Thank you for carefully tending us, especially in difficult times. You provide what we need in order to grow as disciples of Jesus. Help us to abide in him, the true vine. May these offerings and our lives bear much fruit and bring glory to you. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen. (John 15:1-8)

The General Administration Fund is one of seven apportioned funds in The United Methodist Church. This fund helps to ensure that United Methodism continues to move forward with integrity by providing oversight to the legislative processes of the church. This includes the covering the costs for the special committees and commissions formed by General Conference. One is the Commission on a Way Forward. This commission seeks a unified way forward on the church's stance on human sexuality. This committee has been in prayer and conversation seeking a way forward for the church today.
Our faithful giving to the General Administration Fund invests in the future of The United Methodist Church. When we support the General Administration Fund, we can be sure that our gifts to the church are used appropriately and efficiently. Our gifts to the General Administration Fund keep the church moving forward faithfully.
