In the midst of the discussion about following the suggestion of the Council of Bishops, Ann Jacob, Eastern Pennsylvania young adult delegate rose to read the Statement of Unity from the 2014 Global Young People's Convocation, held in the Philippines. In part, it said, "We urge everyone to seek solutions that promote global unity rather than focus on issues that divide us."
