The 2023 Special Sunday Kit provides a full package of ready to use resources to help your church celebrate the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Special Sunday. UMCOR Sunday is a denomination wide celebration designed to raise awareness and support for UMCOR. Use these resources to explore how we give, why we give and the impact we make through connectional efforts.
All resources are available in digital format and we encourage you to use them in the best format that works for your church. For suggestions on how to use the material, check out the How to Guide or for those who value a schedule, the planning calendar is the perfect way to consolidate all the opportunities. This year, the official date for UMCOR Sunday is March 19, 2023, but we encourage you to celebrate on a day that works best for your church.

This ministry is achieved exclusively through your generosity. In 2022, you gave almost $2.2 million which provided hope and safety for communities and individuals whose lives have been upset by storms, wars, fires, displacement and climate change. The special offering on this Sunday underwrites UMCOR’s “cost of doing business” making it possible for UMCOR to focus on responding to communities and individuals when they need immediate assistance. It allows UMCOR to preserve the promise that 100% of any donation to a specific UMCOR project or missionary will go towards that project and not administrative cost.
