Scripture: “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.” —Proverbs 3:13, NIV

Subject: United Methodist Student Day is November 28, 2021.

Dear_____,

One of the major challenges that students face is the lack of financial support to attain a college education. But for United Methodist students, The United Methodist Church is always there to help them accomplish their career goals. For more than 100 years, United Methodists have been supporting their students’ educational needs through the Children’s Fund, which later became United Methodist Student Day.

United Methodist Student Day is November 28, 2021.

The United Methodist Student Day celebration is a time when we celebrate our United Methodist students and receive an offering to provide scholarships for their college education. When you give to the United Methodist Student Day (UMSD) offering, your gifts support the Gift of Hope Scholarship program. Gift of Hope scholarships are awarded to deserving United Methodist students annually.

Plan your celebration with the resources and ideas listed below.

  • Select the person(s) to lead your celebration plans:
    • Ask your local church education chairperson or equivalent position to help plan or coordinate the celebration.

Announcement Copy:

“United Methodist Student Day is November 28, 2021. It’s a day when we celebrate our United Methodist students and receive an offering to support scholarships for qualified United Methodist applicants.

We are grateful for our students and their desire to fulfill their dreams. Our students are the future of The United Methodist Church. Let us honor them in a special way on Student Day. When you give to the United Methodist Student Day offering, your gifts support the Gift of Hope Scholarship that is awarded to United Methodist students annually.

Please add the date to your calendars and be prepared to support our students.

Thank you.”

United Methodist Student Day calls the church to support students as they prepare for a life of Christian service. When you give generously on United Methodist Student Day, you support future missionaries, engineers, teachers, pastors, film producers and so many other careers. Our students are depending on your support. Will you help them?

Thank you for your generous gifts.
