Dear Leaders,
World Communion Sunday is just three weeks away! This is our opportunity empower new voices and future leaders in ministry. As World Communion Sunday draws near, we remember that the Church is not bound by walls or geography. We are one body—diverse, international, and united in Christ. Let’s come together to answer this call and make a meaningful impact!
This week’s email encourages reflection on how we are shaping a Church that looks more like the Kingdom Jesus described in Galatians 3:28. Use this time to educate people about the special offering and how it supports vital ministries locally and globally.
Your support in promoting this Sunday can inspire others to participate and provide scholarships and leadership training for students called to serve. Encourage everyone to mark their calendars for World Communion Sunday and begin considering how they can support this ministry by their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and mission.
Here are some tips to build momentum:
- Use visuals. Reflect on the ways your own faith has been shaped by worldwide partnerships or diverse voices in ministry. Utilize the promotional resources like posters, infographics, social graphics, and videos to spread the word.
- Engage creatively. Encourage small groups or Bible studies to discuss what it means to seek unity. Encourage discussion around passages like passages like 1 Corinthians 10:17, “Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body.”
- Highlight the educational initiatives: Learn about the available scholarships and grants that fund this special Sunday at UMC.org/wcs. Invite classes and small groups to explore and read stories of impact from the scholarships and grants awarded through this offering.
- Invite participation. Ask others to start praying and thinking about how they can give. Pew cards, worship graphics and infographics are an excellent tool for promoting World Communion Sunday and providing giving options.
Let’s continue to build excitement—thank you for all you’re doing!

Title: Building a Church that Looks Like the Kingdom
Subject Line: World Communion Sunday Is Near — Let’s Reflect and Prepare
Pretext: Discover how our church can celebrate unity and support future ministers
Email Body:
Dear [Church Family/Small Group],
World Communion Sunday is now just three weeks away! As we prepare to gather at Christ’s table, this is the perfect time to highlight the spiritual and practical power of this celebration.
In Galatians 3:28, Paul reminds us, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” World Communion Sunday embodies this vision—a Church where identity and culture enrich rather than divide.
Through our offering, we are helping equip students and leaders to answer God’s call into ministry and service. These investments in education, equity, and leadership development are vital to building a truly all-encompassing Church.
Together, we are shaping a Church that looks more like the Kingdom Jesus described. Consider a generous gift on World Communion Sunday. Thank you for participating in this important work.
Grace and peace,
