For so many, summertime is a season of both busyness and restfulness. On the one hand, our calendars are filled with family vacations, Annual Conferences, camps, for some, beginning new appointments, back-to-school shopping, and all other manner of festivities. At the same time, for many, it’s a season of rest: rest from our usual rhythms of structure and routine. Summer is the time for travelling, breaks from school, and seeing those we love.
The same is true for the staff at GCSRW! We are leaning into the season of both busyness and rest. We’ll be travelling across the United States, and even the world, attending to the business of the Church! We’ll be at Annual Conferences supporting and representing Annual Conference COSROW groups! We’ll be in places like Warsaw, Poland, Calgary, Canada, and Dublin, Ireland. We’ll even gather as a staff for a week to do strategic planning and visioning for the upcoming years.
So, amidst all the travel and busyness, we'll be making space for our summertime rest by taking a short break from our usual publication schedule. Rest assured, we’ll still be around, responding to calls and emails, and attending to our ongoing work. You just might not see as many articles as usual on our platforms. We’ll be back, full speed ahead, in August.
Here’s how you can help:
- First, take care of yourself. We invite you to tend to your own season of summertime rest! May you find respite in family vacations, time off, new appointments, or whatever your summer ahead holds!
- Second, we’ll still be around on social media—so tag us in your posts! We want to see your pictures and posts from Annual Conference sessions, AC COSROW gatherings, and your 70th Anniversary of Women’s Ordination celebrations.
In the meantime, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach our staff members via email, and as always, our confidential hotline is open. If you have experienced sexual misconduct in the church call our confidential toll-free number 1-800-523-8390 for support.
