Learn to navigate change with communication training course
Nashville, Tennessee –United Methodist Communications is re-launching its Communicating During Seasons of Change four-week facilitated online course. The training will run March 7th through April 1st, 2022 with webinar sessions each Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-2:00pm CT. Supplemental resources and discussions will be provided each week. Registration for the limited space course is open through March 2nd at 5pm CT at UMCTraining.org.
Each session will present facilitated live training led by communications experts from United Methodist Communications, the denomination’s global communication agency. The course resembles a traditional class model. Participants will be prompted to utilize interactive eLearning modules, read articles, watch videos, engage in the live sessions and interact on a discussion board. Topics will include: understanding your church's season of change, assessing your church and planning for a cultural change, communication in times of rapid change and implementing communication effectively.
“This was the first of our series of online facilitated courses that started in October of 2021 and we had a great response,” notes Director of Training and Development Jeremy Brown. “We found that participants valued that the course allowed them to learn from the expert while also having opportunities to engage with and learn from their fellow students.”
In addition to the facilitated course, church leaders can access United Methodist Communications’ self-serve online training courses. Each offers professional instruction to enhance communications skills with the added benefit of convenience to accommodate busy schedules. Courses are available at ResourceUMC.org/Training.
