The General Commission on the Status and Role of Women advocates for full participation of women in the total life of The United Methodist Church. We’re helping the church recognize every person – clergy and lay, women and men, adults and children - as full and equal parts of God’s human family. We believe that a fully engaged and empowered membership is vital to The United Methodist Church’s mission "to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."

I went somewhat begrudgingly to my first Connectional Table meeting in the Philippines last month. It’s not that I didn’t want to go, but the journey would take around 30 hours, and I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had never participated before. So, there was some anxiety and a bit of dread about making the trip.
Today, November 20, is Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual international observance to honor the memory of individuals who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice.
The red-pill movement is not just a fringe internet subculture— it is a pipeline to very real abuse. Its teachings about male headship and female submission create environments where violence, coercion, and cover-ups hide behind a veneer of righteousness.
