Lead Courageously: Following Christ Into Justice
During the month of February, we remember what is required of us as followers of Christ: "To seek justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God." (Micah 6:8).
We honor the courageous leadership of Black Christians who have shaped our Church and our world — prophets of justice who refused to accept anything less than the dignity God grants to every person. As we remember and celebrate Black History Month, we are called anew to listen, to learn, and to lead courageously in our own contexts.
This month also leads us into the season of Lent, inviting us to follow Jesus’ example of courageous leadership—sacrificial love, solidarity with the oppressed, and hope that does not waver.
May these resources help your congregation respond to God’s call to lead with conviction — confronting injustice, cultivating reconciliation, and embodying the liberating love of Christ in our communities.
